The Indian Army is recruiting 90 Technical Officers through the prestigious Technical Entry Scheme (TES-55) for the July 2026 course. This is an excellent opportunity for young engineering aspirants to join the Indian Army as commissioned officers in technical branches.

These officers will be trained at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, and subsequently serve in various technical corps of the Indian Army including:
- Corps of Engineers
- Corps of Signals
- Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME)
- Army Ordnance Corps
- Army Aviation Corps
🎓 Educational Qualifications
To be eligible for this prestigious opportunity, candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- 10+2 Examination passed with minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM)
- Must be from a recognized education board
- Only Class XII marks will be considered for calculating PCM percentage
Mandatory Requirement:
- Must have appeared in JEE (Mains) 2025 – This is compulsory
- JEE Mains Common Rank List (CRL) will be used for shortlisting candidates
Important Notes:
- The 60% requirement is specifically for PCM subjects combined, not overall percentage
- Candidates appearing in 12th exams are NOT eligible
- Diploma holders are NOT eligible for this entry
💰 Stipend / Salary Details
During Training at IMA:
- Monthly Stipend: ₹56,100 per month
After Commissioning as Lieutenant:
- Starting Salary: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level 10 of Pay Matrix)
- Additional Allowances: DA, Military Service Pay, Kit Maintenance, Field Area Allowances
- Other Benefits: Free medical facilities, canteen facilities, accommodation, leave travel concession
Career Progression:
- Lieutenant → Captain → Major → Lieutenant Colonel → Colonel and beyond

🎯 Selection Process
The selection involves a multi-stage process designed to identify the best candidates:
Stage 1: Application Shortlisting
- Based on JEE Mains 2025 CRL (Common Rank List)
- Cut-off will be decided by the Army Headquarters
- Shortlisted candidates will receive SSB center allotment via email
Stage 2: SSB Interview (5 Days)
Candidates will undergo Service Selection Board (SSB) testing at one of these centers:
- Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh)
- Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)
- Bengaluru (Karnataka)
- Jalandhar (Punjab)
SSB Process includes:
- Day 1 – Stage I:
- Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIR)
- Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT)
- Candidates who fail Stage I return the same day
- Day 2-5 – Stage II:
- Psychological Tests (TAT, WAT, SRT, SDT)
- Group Testing Officer Tasks (GTO)
- Personal Interview
- Conference
Stage 3: Medical Examination
- Conducted at nearest Military Hospital
- Comprehensive medical tests as per military standards
- Must meet physical and medical fitness criteria
Stage 4: Final Merit List
- Based ONLY on SSB marks (no weightage for academic marks)
- Joining letters issued in order of merit

Age Criteria (as on 1st July 2026):
- Minimum Age: 16½ years
- Maximum Age: 19½ years
Date of Birth Requirements:
- Candidates must be born between 2nd January 2007 and 1st January 2010 (both dates inclusive)
