The 4116 positions are distributed across five railway clusters under Northern Railway jurisdiction:

🎓 Educational Qualifications

Candidates must fulfill BOTH the following requirements:

1. Matriculation/10th Standard: Passed with minimum 50% aggregate marks under the 10+2 system from a recognized board
2. ITI Certification: Completed ITI in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT institute recognized by the Government of India

Important: Candidates awaiting results are NOT eligible to apply. You must have both certificates in hand before applying.

💰 Stipend / Salary Details

Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and extant rules applicable to railway apprentices. The exact stipend amount varies based on the trade and year of training. Please refer to the official notification for specific stipend details for your trade.

🎯 Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit only. Here’s how it works:

1. Application Screening: Initial verification of submitted applications
2. Merit List Preparation: Candidates will be ranked based on the average percentage of marks obtained in:
   • Matriculation examination (minimum 50% required)
   • ITI examination
   • Both given equal weightage (50:50)
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification
4. Medical Examination: Final selection subject to meeting medical fitness and physical standards as per railway rules

⏳ Age Limit

As on December 24, 2025:

• Minimum Age: 15 years
• Maximum Age: 24 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Up to additional 10 years as per rules
