🎓 Educational Qualifications

Post Minimum Education Required
Forester +2 Science (10+2) from recognized board/institution with basic computer skills knowledge
Forest Guard High School Certificate (10th Pass) from recognized board/institution
Excise Constable +2 Examination (12th Pass) or equivalent from CHSE, Odisha or any recognized board

Important Language Requirement: All candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia language. You must have passed any one of these:

🎯 Selection Process

The recruitment follows a 3-stage process:

Stage 1: Written Test (100 Marks)

Test Details:

  • Mode: Online (OMR or CBRE mode)
  • Duration: 1.5 hours (90 minutes)
  • Total Questions: 100 (MCQ)
  • Total Marks: 100

Test Features:

  • Questions are bilingual (except English & Odia subjects)
  • In case of confusion, English version prevails
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer

  • No penalty for unattempted questions
  • Exam may be held on multiple dates/shifts with score normalization

Bonus Marks for Excise Constable:

  • NCC ‘B’ Certificate: +1 mark
  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate: +2 marks

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

  • SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Sportsperson: 30%
  • All other candidates: 35%

Stage 2: Physical Test (PSM & PET)

Who qualifies? Top 3 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) move to physical test.

Physical Standard Measurement (PSM):

Forester & Forest Guard:

  • Men (UR/SEBC/SC): 168 cm height, 81 cm chest (unexpanded), 5 cm expansion
  • Men (ST): 158 cm height, 81 cm chest with 5 cm expansion
  • Women (All categories): 153 cm height, 76 cm chest with 5 cm expansion
  • Color blindness is disqualifying

Excise Constable:

  • Men (UR/SEBC): 168 cm height, 55 kg weight, 79–84 cm chest
  • Men (SC/ST): 163 cm height, 50 kg weight, 76–81 cm chest
  • Women (UR/SEBC): 158 cm height, 47.5 kg weight
  • Women (SC/ST): 153 cm height, 45 kg weight
  • Minimum 5 cm chest difference (unexpanded to expanded)
  • No knock knees, bow legs, flat feet, varicose veins, squint, poor vision, color blindness

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Forester & Forest Guard:

  • Men: 25 km walking in 4 hours
  • Women: 16 km walking in 4 hours

Excise Constable:

  • Men: 1.6 km running in 7 minutes + Long Jump 3.66 m (3 attempts)
  • Women: 1.6 km running in 9 minutes + Long Jump 2.75 m (3 attempts)

Failure in any test = automatic disqualification


Stage 3: Document Verification & Counselling

  • Document verification by district-level board
  • Candidates choose post, district, circle, or division preference
  • Final merit lists prepared based on test score and choice
