Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is recruiting 5500 Police Constables in 2026. This massive recruitment drive offers an excellent opportunity for 12th pass candidates to join the Haryana Police Force. The positions include Male Constables (General Duty), Female Constables (General Duty), and Male Constables for Government Railway Police (GRP). - 10+2 (12th Pass) from a recognized Board/Institution
- Hindi/Sanskrit language requirement up to Matric standard or higher education
- Must have qualified Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C with minimum 50% marks (General Category) or 40% marks (Reserved Category)
- No extra weightage given for higher education beyond 12th pass
Pay Scale for All Constable Positions:
- Level 3, Cell 1: Rs. 21,700 (Base Salary)
- Actual in-hand salary includes basic pay plus various allowances such as HRA (House Rent Allowance), DA (Dearness Allowance), and other benefits
- Additional benefits include medical allowance, uniform, and performance bonuses as per police department rules
Note: The salary structure is same for all three categories (Male General Duty, Female General Duty, and Male GRP Constables).
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years (as on 01 January 2026)
- Age Relaxation: 5 years relaxation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Backward Classes (BC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates
- Ex-Servicemen: Special relaxation applicable; break in service should not exceed 4 years as per Punjab Police Rules
Important: Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026. Candidates who applied for Advertisement 14/2024 must apply afresh.
The recruitment will have the following selection stages:
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Qualifying test for height and chest measurements as per prescribed standards
- Physical Screening Test (PST): Running test to judge physical fitness (2.5 km for males, 1 km for females in specified time)
- Knowledge Test: 97% weightage – Objective type, multiple choice questions on General Studies, Science, Current Affairs, Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Agriculture, Computer Knowledge, and Haryana Knowledge
- Additional Marks: Up to 3 marks for NCC certificates (A=1, B=2, C=3)
- Medical Fitness & Character Verification: Before final appointment
Passing Criteria: Minimum 50% for general category, 40% for reserved category in knowledge test. PMT and PST are qualifying in nature. Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit for knowledge test.
