🎯 Selection Process
The selection involves four main stages. This is NOT just a written exam—physical fitness is very important for this job.
Stage 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 Marks
This is a physical fitness test. You must complete specific running and jumping tasks.
For Male Candidates:
- 1600 Meters Race (20 marks):
- Must complete within 7 minutes 30 seconds (450 seconds)
- Faster times earn more marks
- Full 20 marks for completing in 5 minutes or less
- Test conducted with electronic timing and CCTV cameras
- Long Jump (20 marks):
- Minimum jump required: 335 cm (3.35 meters)
- You get 3 attempts; best jump counts
- More than 335 cm = more marks
- 20 marks for 5 meters or more
- Test conducted under CCTV surveillance
For Female Candidates:
- 800 Meters Race (20 marks):
- Must complete within 4 minutes (240 seconds)
- Faster times earn more marks
- Full 20 marks for completing in 2 minutes 40 seconds or less
- Test conducted with electronic timing and CCTV cameras
- Long Jump (20 marks):
- Minimum jump required: 244 cm (2.44 meters)

Stage 2: Medical Examination
After passing PET, you’ll undergo:
- General health checkup by medical officer
- Eye sight test (should be 6/6 in at least one eye)
- Hearing test
- Blood pressure check
- Medical tests as per government standards
- Important: You cannot have color blindness, serious diseases, or physical deformities
Stage 3: Physical Standard Test (PST) – No Marks (Qualifying Only)
After passing medical, you’re checked for:

- Male (General/OBC/SC): Minimum 162.5 cm
- Male (ST Plain/ST Hill): Minimum 160 cm
- Female (General/OBC/SC): Minimum 144.5 cm

Stage 4: Written Test – 50 Marks

- Each correct answer = 0.5 marks
- No negative marking (wrong answers don’t reduce marks)
