🎓 Educational Qualifications

Forester:

  • 10+2 (Science stream) from a recognized University/Board
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Odia language

Forest Guard:

  • High School Certificate (10th) from a recognized Board
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Odia language

Excise Constable:

  • 10+2 or equivalent from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or any recognized Board
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Odia language

Common Requirements for All Posts:

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Must be of good character
  • Knowledge of Odia language (passed ME School with Odia as language subject, or Matriculation with Odia medium, or passed Odia test in Class VII or above)
  • If married, must not have more than one spouse living

Note: Persons with Disabilities (except Leprosy Cured and Acid Attack Victims) are NOT eligible for Forester and Forest Guard posts. Excise Constable applicants with any physical disability or deformity are not eligible.

🎯 Selection Process

The selection will be conducted in two stages:

Stage 1: Written Test (Computer-Based)

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 1.5 hours (90 minutes)
  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • Mode: OMR/Computer-Based (CBRE)

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Qualifying Marks:

  • General/SEBC candidates: 35%
  • ST/SC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Sportsperson: 30%

Bonus Marks for Excise Constable:

  • NCC ‘B’ Certificate: 1 mark
  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 2 marks

Stage 2: Physical Test

Candidates will be shortlisted (minimum 3 times the vacancies) for Physical Test based on Written Test merit.

A) Physical Standard Measurement (PSM):

For Forester & Forest Guard:

B) Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

For Forester & Forest Guard:

  • Male: Walking Test – 25 km in 4 hours
  • Female: Walking Test – 16 km in 4 hours

For Excise Constable:

  • Male: Running 1.6 km in 7 minutes + Long Jump 3.66 m (3 attempts)
  • Female: Running 1.6 km in 9 minutes + Long Jump 2.75 m (3 attempts)

Note: Candidates must qualify in ALL tests. Failure in any test leads to disqualification. Color blindness is a disqualification for Forester/Forest Guard.


⏳ Age Limit

As on 01-01-2025:

  • Forester: 18 to 32 years
  • Forest Guard: 18 to 32 years
  • Excise Constable: 21 to 32 years

Note: Candidates eligible for multiple relaxations can claim only the most beneficial one, except PwDs from SC/ST/SEBC who get cumulative relaxation.

Examination Fee: ₹500/-

Payment Mode: Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI (through Payment Gateway)

Exemption: SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are exempted from fee payment.

Refund Policy:

  • Fee will be refunded to candidates who actually appear for the examination
  • Refund will be credited to the bank account/payment method used during registration
  • No refund for candidates who fail to appear for any reason
