Post Type & Job Details

Post Type: Government Contract Medical Position

Nature of Work:

  • Temporary contract position for 6 months (January 2026 to June 2026)
  • Direct clinical duties under senior supervision
  • Work in government-approved medical departments at AIIMS
  • No automatic extension after 6 months
  • Maximum 3 terms allowed throughout career (each 6-month stint counts as 1 term)

Key Point: This is a fixed-term contract. Previous Junior Resident experience at AIIMS or other hospitals counts toward your term limit.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

You must have:

  • MBBS or BDS degree from a Medical/Dental College recognized by MCI/DCI
  • Completed Internship (mandatory)
  • DMC/DDC Registration (mandatory before joining; can be obtained after selection if not already registered)

Eligibility Period:

  • You must have completed MBBS/BDS between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2025
  • This means you cannot be a graduate from 2022 or earlier

Important:

  • Dental graduates (BDS) can only apply for dental positions in Dental Surgery
  • Medical graduates (MBBS) can apply for all medical departments

💰 Stipend / Salary Details (Per Month)

Monthly Salary: ₹56,100/-

Salary Details:

  • Base pay as per Level 10 of government pay matrix
  • Plus usual government allowances as applicable
  • Salary is released through online transfer to your bank account

Security Deposit Required:

  • Mandatory deposit: ₹25,000/- (Twenty-Five Thousand Rupees)
  • Must be submitted via electronic fund transfer (EFT) only
  • This is a security amount; if you join and complete the 6-month term satisfactorily, it will be refunded
  • If you don’t join after being selected, this amount will be forfeited

🎯 Selection Process

Merit-Based Selection:

The selection process is straightforward and merit-based:

Stage 1: Merit List Preparation

For AIIMS New Delhi MBBS Graduates:

  • Merit is based on your aggregate marks in I, II, and Final Professional examinations
  • They get priority for seat allocation

For Non-AIIMS Graduates or BDS Graduates:

  • Merit is based on INI-CET PG Entrance Examination January 2026 rank
  • If you haven’t appeared in INI-CET, your merit will be calculated on your MBBS percentage marks
  • Your combined merit list will be prepared compared to all other non-AIIMS candidates

Stage 2: Counselling

  • Candidates are called in order of merit
  • You select your preferred department from available vacant seats
  • Reserved category candidates get options for both general and reserved positions
  • Selection happens through online seat allocation

No Interview: There’s no interview; selection is purely on merit and preferences.

Easy Step-by-Step Application Process:

Step 1: Visit the Portal

  • Register with your email ID and mobile number
  • Verify your email and mobile through OTP
  • Create a password

Step 3: Fill Basic Information

  • Enter your personal details (name, date of birth, contact information)
  • Upload your recent passport-size photograph
  • Enter your MBBS/BDS degree details and graduation date

Step 4: Select Department Preferences

  • Choose your preferred departments in order of preference
  • You can choose multiple departments
  • You can reorder your preferences until the final submission
  • After final submission, no changes are allowed

Step 5: Upload Documents

  • You don’t need to upload certificates initially
  • Only upload documents if specifically requested
  • Certificates will be verified during document verification round

Step 6: Pay Security Deposit

Important Information About This Position

Reservation Policy:

  • 20% of Emergency Medicine positions are for internal mobility (no interview needed if you qualify)
  • OBC, SC, ST, EWS candidates get reservation as per government rules
  • PWD candidates get 4% horizontal reservation

Term Limits:

  • Maximum 3 terms (3 × 6-month periods) allowed in your entire career
  • If you’ve already worked as JR elsewhere, that counts toward your 3-term limit
  • Term counts even if you leave early; even 1 day counts as 1 full term

Leave & Work Rules:

  • You get 2.5 days leave per month
  • Maximum 5 days leave at a time (with HOD approval)
