🎯 Selection Process – How Merit is Calculated
Selection is based on Merit with a total of 100 marks distributed as:
75 Marks: Based on qualifying examination marks
- Aggregate marks obtained in your PG degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh/DrNB)
- Higher marks = Better score
10 Marks: Experience weightage (for years since PG completion)
- 1 mark per year since passing PG qualification
- Maximum 10 marks
- Calculated as on 1st January 2026
5 Marks: Central Institution bonus
- Given if you completed PG/Super specialty from Central Institutions recognized by MCI/NMC
Up to 10 Marks: Contract service weightage (if applicable)
- COVID-19 service: 5 marks per 6 months (0.83 mark per completed month)
- Tribal Area service: 2.5 marks per 6 months
- Rural Area service: 2 marks per 6 months
- Urban Area service: 1 mark per 6 months
