π Educational Qualifications
Essential Qualification:
- Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university
Language Requirement:
- Sufficient knowledge of Marathi language to speak, read, write, and translate from Marathi to English and vice-versa (Mandatory)
Experience Required (as on 30.01.2026):
Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in any of the following:
Option 1:
- Practicing as an Advocate in the Bombay High Court or courts subordinate to it, OR
- Serving as a Judicial Officer in the Maharashtra Judicial Service
While computing 7 years:
- Period as Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate is included
- Period worked as Law Clerk (after provisional enrollment as Advocate) with Judges of Bombay High Court or Judicial Officers is included
Option 2:
- Working or have worked as Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate for at least 7 years
- Period as practicing Advocate shall be included
For Serving Judicial Officers:
- 7 years includes continuous service as Judicial Officer plus service as Public Prosecutor/Government Advocate plus practice as Advocate plus experience as Law Clerk
