🎓 Educational Qualifications

You should have one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from Science faculty from a recognized university/institute, OR
  • Bachelor of Fire Engineering, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering + Divisional Officer Course from National Fire College, Nagpur, OR
  • Minimum 3 months training for senior supervisory officer from any recognized Central Government institution

💰 Stipend / Salary Details (Per Month)

  • Pay Level: Revised Pay Level-11 (as per Bihar Government Pay Scale)
  • The exact monthly salary depends on your experience, qualification division (1st/2nd/3rd), and age

🎯 Selection Process

The selection is done on a 100-point scale:

Marking Breakdown:

  • Academic Qualifications: 50 marks (divided into Matric, Intermediate, Graduation with 1st/2nd/3rd Division)
  • Work Experience: 20 marks (2 marks awarded for each full year of experience beyond the required 12 years)
  • Interview: 30 marks

Selection Stages:

  1. Screening Test (if large number of applications)
  2. Document Verification (mandatory before interview)
  3. Interview Round (final selection stage)

⏳ Age Limit

Age Requirement: 40 to 55 years (as on August 1, 2025)

Age Relaxations:

  • Regular Bihar Government employees: 5 years relaxation (with conditions on attempts after December 12, 2022)
  • Ex-servicemen: 3 years + actual service period (maximum actual age 57 years)
  • Retirement age: 60 years

Experience Required

You need a minimum of 12 years in firefighting, which should include:

  • Minimum 2 years in senior supervisory equivalent post (Pay Level-11 or equivalent)
  • Remaining 10 years in Pay Level-7 or 9 or equivalent

Important: Experience certificate from your controlling officer is mandatory. Candidates from Central or other states with Pay Level-8/10 experience can also apply.
