Position: District Career and Mental Health Counsellors
Total Posts: 424
Location: Various Districts and Mandals across Andhra Pradesh
Job Responsibilities:
Career Counseling:
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to discuss career aspirations, academic interests, and personal strengths
- Engage with parents and teachers to provide information on career counseling services
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and community organizations for holistic student career development
Mental Health Support:
- Provide individual counseling for students dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health challenges
- Coordinate with principals and parents to identify vulnerable areas (slums, bastis, rural areas) for community visits
- Conduct workshops and seminars on mental health awareness, coping strategies, and emotional regulation for students and staff
🎓 Educational Qualifications
Essential Qualifications (Any One):
Postgraduate Qualifications:
- M.Sc. / M.A. in Psychology (Applied, Counselling, Clinical, Child, or Adolescent Psychology)
- M.Sc. / M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work
- M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing
- Master of Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work or Counselling
Undergraduate Qualification:
- B.A. / B.Sc. (Honours) in Psychology with minimum 2 years counselling experience
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency in English (written & verbal) – Mandatory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Good presentation skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Telugu language
- Diploma in Career Guidance & Counselling
Note:
- Qualifications must be from Government-recognized institutions only
- Freshers who have appeared for final degree examination and are awaiting results can also apply
💰 Salary Details (per month)

Contract Duration:
- Initially valid till March 31, 2026
- May be renewed for additional 10 months (June 2026 to March 2027)
- Extension based on performance and requirement of Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh
