🎓 Educational Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

You must meet ALL the following criteria to be eligible:

Academic Qualification:

  • Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 or equivalent) from any recognized board
  • Minimum 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM)
  • Minimum 50% marks in English (either in Class 10 or Class 12)

JEE Main 2025 Requirement:

  • Must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2025 exam for B.E/B.Tech
  • No minimum score cutoff specified; any rank in JEE Main qualifies
  • Your JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2025 will be used for SSB shortlisting

Nationality & Marital Status:

  • Indian citizen or eligible as per government regulations
  • Must be unmarried (both male and female candidates)

Additional Eligibility:

  • Physically and mentally fit as per Navy medical standards

🎯 Selection Process

The selection process has multiple stages designed to test your academic knowledge, physical fitness, and mental capabilities:

Stage 1: Shortlisting on JEE Main Rank

  • Your JEE (Main) 2025 All India Common Rank List (CRL) score will be used
  • Naval HQ will fix a cutoff rank for shortlisting based on vacancies
  • Top-ranked candidates in JEE Main get called for SSB interviews

Stage 2: Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview

  • Conducted at 4 centers: Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam
  • SSB interviews scheduled from March 2026 onwards
  • Interview period: 2-3 days at the allotted center
  • Tests include:
    • Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test
    • Picture Perception & Discussion (PP&DT)
    • Group Discussion & Group Planning
    • Personal Interview

Stage 3: Medical Examination

  • Conducted only for SSB-recommended candidates
  • Thorough physical examination as per Navy medical standards

  • Medical forms must be carried to SSB (bank passbook copy)

Stage 4: Verification & Merit List

  • Police verification and character verification conducted

Q1: I scored 80% in 12th with 75% in PCM and 60% in English. Am I eligible?

A: Yes! You meet the criteria: 75% in PCM (required 70%) and 60% in English (required 50%). Aggregate marks don’t matter as long as individual subject marks meet the requirement.


Q2: What if I didn’t get a good JEE Main rank? Can I still apply?

A: Yes! There’s no minimum JEE Main score mentioned. Even with a lower rank, you can apply. Naval HQ will shortlist candidates based on available vacancies. However, better ranks increase your chances.


Q3: Can married candidates apply?

A: No. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. If you marry during training, you’ll be discharged from service.
