🎓 Educational Qualifications

Executive Branch (GS(X) / Hydro), Pilot, NAOO (Observer), ATC: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. Pilot, NAOO & ATC candidates must also have 60% aggregate in Class X & XII and minimum 60% in English in either Class X or XII.

Logistics: BE/B.Tech (any discipline, 1st class) OR MBA (1st class) OR B.Sc/B.Com (1st class) with PG Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain/Material Management OR MCA/M.Sc(H) with 1st class.

Education: MSc/MA in Maths, Physics, Meteorology, Oceanography, or related subjects with 60% OR BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, CS Engineering or equivalent — all with minimum 60% marks. Class X or XII minimum 60% required.

Engineering Branch (GS): BE/B.Tech (60%) in Marine, Aerospace, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Automobiles, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Submarine Tech Engineering: BE/B.Tech (60%) in Production, Control, Aeronautical, Industrial Engineering & Management, Instrumentation & Control, or Mechanical Engineering.

Electrical Branch (GS): BE/B.Tech (60%) in Electrical, Instrumentation, Power Electronics, Electronics, Telecom, or Power Engineering.

Submarine Tech Electrical: BE/B.Tech (60%) in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecom, or Applied Electronics & Communication (AEC).

📌 No backlogs allowed at time of document verification at SSB. Final degree must be completed before joining INA Ezhimala in January 2027.


💰 Salary Details (Per Month)

  • Starting Salary: Approximately ₹1,25,000/- per month as Sub Lieutenant + allowances.
  • Pilot / NAOO Allowance: ₹31,250/- additional after successful completion of flying training.
  • Submarine Allowance: ₹31,250/- additional after completion of submarine training.

🎯 Selection Process

Step 1 — Application Shortlisting: Based on normalised marks in the qualifying degree. For BE/B.Tech candidates, marks up to the 5th semester are considered. For PG candidates (MSc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech), all semesters are considered.

Step 2 — SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for Services Selection Board (SSB) interview at allotted SSB centres. No change of SSB centre is permitted.

Step 3 — Medical Examination: SSB-recommended candidates undergo medical examination. Change of medical centre is not allowed.

Step 4 — Merit List: Final merit list is prepared based on SSB marks + medical fitness + vacancy availability. Candidates are commissioned as Sub Lieutenant on joining INA Ezhimala.

📌 NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders (Naval/Army/Air Wing, minimum ‘B’ Grade, issued after 01 Jan 2024) get 5% relaxation in shortlisting cut-off marks for SSB.

📌 Merchant Navy certificate holders (2nd Mate/Mate/Master or 1st Class Engineer) born between 02 Jan 1997 – 01 Jul 2007 are also eligible to apply for Executive or Engineering branch respectively.


📑 How to Apply

  1. Visit the official website: joinindiannavy.gov.in
  2. Register and fill the online application form with accurate personal and educational details (as per Matriculation certificate).
  3. Keep the following scanned documents ready in JPG/TIFF format before starting: passport-size photo, mark sheets (up to 5th/7th semester for B.Tech, all semesters for PG), Date of Birth proof, NCC ‘C’ certificate (if applicable), Merchant Navy certificate (if applicable).
  4. Select branch/cadre preferences carefully — you will only be considered for branches you have selected.
  5. Submit the application. Once submitted, no changes/amendments will be entertained.
  6. Take a printout of the application and carry it to the SSB interview when called.

⚠️ Only one application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation of candidature. Only unmarried candidates are eligible — candidates who marry during training will be discharged.
