🎯 Selection Process
Two-Phase Written Test (Both Mandatory):
Phase 1: General Aptitude (Section-I)
- Type: Objective (MCQ)
- Questions: 40
- Marks: 80 (2 marks each correct answer)
- Duration: 1 hour
- Nature: Qualifying only (marks not counted for final merit)
- Negative Marking: 0.5 marks deducted per wrong answer
Phase 2: Domain Knowledge (Section-II)
- Type: Objective (MCQ)
- Questions: 40
- Marks: 80 (2 marks each correct answer)
- Duration: 1 hour
- Nature: Merit-based (final selection based on these marks)
- Negative Marking: 0.5 marks deducted per wrong answer
Total: 80 questions, 160 marks, 2 hours
Final Merit List:
- Prepared based ONLY on marks obtained in Section-II (Domain Knowledge)
- Candidates must qualify Section-I to be eligible for merit list
- Qualifying marks for Section-I will be decided based on overall candidate performance
- No marks for unanswered questions, no negative marking for blank responses

Step 1: Download Admit Card
- Visit official NIT Silchar website: www.nits.ac.in
- Look for “Technical Assistant Recruitment 2026” section
- Download admit card link (will be available soon on website)
- Select your department carefully (selection is final, cannot be changed)
- Download and print the admit card
Step 2: Prepare Documents
- Keep all original certificates ready
- Carry one set of self-attested photocopies
- Keep valid photo ID proof
- Carry recent passport-size photographs
Step 3: Walk-in on Test Day
- Date: 07 March 2026
- Reporting Time: 08:30 AM sharp
- Venue: New Gallery (Opposite to SBI), NIT Silchar
- Test Start Time: 10:00 AM onwards
Important Instructions:
- Printed admit card is MANDATORY
- Valid photo ID proof required (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License/PAN Card)
- No entry without admit card and ID proof
- Follow all instructions mentioned in the admit card
- Reach venue well before reporting time
