🎓 Educational Qualifications
Essential Qualification:
Candidates must possess a three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from Punjab State Technical Education Board or any government-recognized university or institution. Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E) in the relevant engineering discipline are also eligible.
Mandatory Language Requirement:
As per Punjab Civil Services Rules 1994, candidates must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, or any equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
Desirable: Higher qualification (Engineering Degree) in the relevant discipline is preferred.
Important Note: All educational certificates must be issued before the last date of application.
💰 Salary Details (per month)
Pay Level: Level-6 as per 7th Central Pay Commission
Basic Salary: ₹35,400/- per month

🎯 Selection Process
The selection will be conducted through a fair and transparent process:
Step 1 – Written Examination: Candidates will appear for an Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based written examination covering technical subjects related to their engineering discipline.
Step 2 – Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination. Higher scorers will get preference.
Step 3 – Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and counseling. The number of candidates called will depend on category-wise vacancy availability.
Tie-Breaking Criteria (if candidates score equal marks):
- Older candidate (based on date of birth)
- Higher percentage in diploma/degree qualification
- Higher marks in Matriculation examination
Step 4 – Final Selection: After successful document verification and eligibility confirmation, candidates will be recommended to the respective departments based on merit and vacancy availability.
⏳ Age Limit
Age criteria as on 1st January 2025:
- General Category: 18 to 37 years
- SC/BC Candidates of Punjab: 18 to 42 years
- State/Central Government Employees: 18 to 45 years (with NOC)
- Ex-Servicemen of Punjab: Age calculated after deducting service period in armed forces
- Physically Handicapped (Punjab): 18 to 47 years
- Widows/Divorcees/Certain Married Women: Up to 40 years (as per government orders)
Special Relaxation: Candidates who applied in the 2015 advertisement and paid fees as per High Court order will receive additional age relaxation.
